SOMATIQUE is an immersive, in-person professional training designed for clinicians seeking to deepen their use of somatic and nervous-system–informed approaches in the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress-related mental health conditions.
Led by Dr. J. Eric Gentry, PhD, LMHC, DAAETS, this conference is grounded in the work of his forthcoming book and translates theory into practical, embodied clinical application. Dr. Gentry’s teaching bridges neuroscience, trauma-informed care, and somatic practice—offering clinicians tools that are both rigorous and immediately applicable.
Created for helping professionals, SOMATIQUE integrates body-centered approaches not as an adjunct, but as a core component of effective, sustainable clinical practice. The training emphasizes skill development, clinical clarity, and embodied presence, while honoring the complexity and demands of the work clinicians do every day.
Clinical Foundation
Recent advances in neuroscience continue to highlight the central role of the nervous system in mental and emotional well-being, inviting clinicians to expand beyond traditional talk-therapy models.
This immersive CE experience introduces somatic, nervous-system–informed approaches that support quicker symptom relief, deeper clinical impact, and sustainable change for clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and chronic stress.
Importantly, these same principles apply to clinicians themselves. SOMATIQUE offers the opportunity to practice and embody the interventions being taught, supporting deeper integration, clinical confidence, and a lived understanding of how nervous-system regulation facilitates healing.
Facilitated by expert trauma-informed clinicians, the training environment is intentionally structured to support focus, regulation, and integration. While SOMATIQUE is a professional education program—not a retreat—the pacing and setting are designed to enhance learning outcomes and long-term clinical effectiveness.
Clinician Sustainability & Burnout Prevention
Clinical burnout is not solely a workload issue; it is often a nervous-system issue. SOMATIQUE creates intentional space to step out of constant demand, pause, and recalibrate within a structured educational framework.
Experiencing nervous-system–informed practices firsthand strengthens clinicians’ capacity to support regulation, resilience, and healing in their clients. In this way, professional skill development and clinician sustainability become mutually reinforcing.
“A relaxed body creates secure attachment.”
— Dr. J. Eric Gentry
Optional Integration & Embodied Practice
To support learning, integration, and nervous-system health, optional daily offerings will be available outside of formal training hours. These experiences are designed to complement the educational content and model mind–body principles taught throughout the program.
Optional offerings may include:
• Mindful body movement
• Meditation and grounding practices
• Tai Chi or slow, intentional movement
• Open beach time for reflection and integration
Participation is entirely optional and intended to support experiential understanding, embodiment, and professional integration—not therapy.
